We are affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).  Whether you’ve been attending church for years or this is your first time, you’ll feel welcome at Oak Hills Christian Church.

 

When is the service?

Our worship service begins at 10 a.m. each Sunday.  The service lasts 60-65 minutes.  You should arrive about 10 minutes early if you have children under age three.  That will give you plenty of time to check them with our Children’s ministry before the service begins.  We meet at 100 Township Line Road, in Butler.

What should I wear?

Whatever you want! We welcome jeans, t-shirts, ties, tuxedos…you get the idea. Come as you are.

What happens when I arrive?

Park anywhere you like in the large parking lot behind the sanctuary.  There is also a small parking lot in front of the church building that allows you to enter the sanctuary directly without climbing any stairs. You’ll see our friendly greeters at the entrance who can direct you to the worship service or to the nursery if you have a child under 3 years of age. Older children can sit in the service and may - if they wish - depart for our children’s ministry after the children’s message that is given about 15 minutes into the service.  People will be available to answer any questions you have and hand you a bulletin. While you wait, feel free to enjoy the music, read about upcoming events up on the screens, and complete as much information as you feel comfortable sharing on the Connection Card in your bulletin (which we’ll collect toward the end of the service).

What is the service like?

​First of all, you won’t be pointed out or made to feel uncomfortable in any way. You will have a meaningful, stress-free experience…and you’ll have a good time. Each service is about 65 minutes. The first 15 minutes of the service you’ll get to enjoy some worship music led by our Elders and Pianist. We’ll have the words to each song up on the screen, so you can sing as much as you feel comfortable! After a short welcome, there is usually another song or we’ll jump right into the day’s teaching. Each message/sermon is 25-30 minutes long and takes eternal Biblical principles and applies them to your life in some very real and practical ways. We’ll give you space to write down message notes in your bulletin and a pencil near your seat for you to use, so, you can review what you learned later in the week.

 

We celebrate Holy Communion each week as a congregation. Communion, sometimes referred to as the Lord’s Supper, is an opportunity for believers in Jesus to celebrate of His death and resurrection on our behalf. You don’t have to be a member of Oak Hills Christian Church or any church to participate in communion with us.

What about my kids? 

We think your children will love their time with us! All children–from birth to 6th grade–are invited to join us in a fun, safe, clean, interactive environment where our team of trained volunteers creates an environment your child will want to come back to every week! Children under three years old may stay in our nursery during the entire service.  Older children are welcome to depart the service following the message that we give specifically for them.​​​​​​​
